Land use is the basis for our lifestyle. Future land use designation and zoning are what shapes a community.

Future Government
The Acreage/Loxahatchee is surrounded by municipalities: Palm Beach Gardens to the north and east; West Palm Beach to the east; Westlake in the center; and Wellington, Loxahatchee Groves and Royal Palm Beach to the south.

Municipalities are authorized to create there own Comprehensive Plans and Zoning Codes, keeping issues local in nature instead of County controlled.

Although annexation can be difficult, it is possible to get a 50%+1 vote from a unit within ITID's district that have purchased properties without the property owners of that unit's knowledge. There are other options that can be taken in order to annex into a neighboring municipality.
