SUMMARY:ITID BOS Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:ITID BOS Monthly Meeting \nThe agenda for the next meeting of the Indian Trail Improvement District’s Board of Supervisors is now available through ITID’s website. \nThe meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday\, Dec. 10. It will be held at ITID’s administrative building (13476 61st St. N.\, West Palm Beach\, Florida 33412). It’s open to the public\, and you may attend in person or watch online (Zoom or YouTube). \nAgenda direct links include: \n\nAgenda (OpenMeeting portal version)\nAgenda (PDF version)\nAgenda packet (PDF version)\n\n  \nNote that the agenda could be modified between now and the meeting. If items are added\, removed or otherwise changed in the interim\, the supervisors will vote on those changes and finalize the agenda at the start of the meeting. \nCurrently\, agenda items of note include: \n\nElection of officers: The members of the board of supervisors will decide who among them will serve as their president\, vice president\, treasurer and secretary for the coming year. (The supervisors and their current officer titles are Elizabeth Accomando\, president; Patricia Farrell\, vice president; Richard Vassalotti\, treasurer; Betty Argue\, secretary; and Michael Johnson\, assistant secretary.)\nAppointment of representatives: The supervisors will decide who among them will serve as liaison to various other government boards — such as that of the county commissioners and surrounding municipalities like Westlake — for the coming year. The supervisors will also appoint a liaison to a new ITID group\, called the District Events Coordination Group. The agenda does not include a description of the new group.\nRefreshments and board photos: The description of this agenda item only states\, “All are welcome to participate.”\nHCA presentation: The description of this agenda item only states\, “New proposed Emergency Center on Orange Blvd next to Auto Zone.” But you can learn more about this 11\,000-square-foot building slated to be built on 1.58 acre by reading the proposal and justification statement that HCA submitted to the county. Or\, attend the Acreage Landowners Association meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 16\, when HCA representatives are scheduled to present their proposal to the community.\nPublic input: This part of the meeting offers residents a chance to speak directly to the supervisors about district matters that are not on the agenda. ITID typically give each resident 3 minutes to speak\, but you must fill out and submit a comment card at the start of the meeting if you wish to speak.\nSpecial Permit No. SP-0618: This permit\, which is located on the consent agenda\, “is to install an eastbound to southbound right tum at the intersection of SR-7 and Orange Grove Blvd and provide an eastbound to southbound right tum at the intersection of SR-7 and Persimmon Blvd\, widening on the south side of Orange Grove Blvd between 110th avenue and SR-7 with modifications at the south side of Persimmon Blvd between 110th Ave. and SR 7 and widening on the west side of SR-7 to accommodate the turning radius and merge length of the right turn lanes.\, as shown on 49 sheets titled ‘SR7 HOT RIGHTS ORANGE GROVE BLVD. & PERSIMMON BLVD’ dated 08/29/25.” More information — including diagrams like the one pictured above — is available here.\n\n  \nIndian Trail Improvement District is an independent special district\, which is a form of local government. It’s “special” in that is was created for a specific purpose: to maintain drainage\, roads and parks\, in ITID’s case. Its boundaries include about 17\,000 lots\, which more or less include the unincorporated community of The Acreage/Loxahatchee. \nBecause ITID is a local government entity\, it’s largely funded by tax dollars and the members of its board of supervisors are elected officials. In other words\, residents of The Acreage/Loxahatchee are ITID constituents and the supervisors work for and are accountable to our residents.
