(Paid members may disregard the automatic email sent earlier today.) However\, Commissioner Baxter has introduced a new text amendment permitting the subdivision of smaller properties in Heritage Farms. Traditionally\, such amendments are initiated by property owners\, who are required to adhere to all necessary procedures and pay the applicable fees. Commissioner Baxter’s proposal would allow this property owner to bypass these requirements. \nWhile the property in question is not located within the Ag/Reserve\, this change has the potential to prompt future litigation that could affect Ag/Reserve properties as well. There is concern that such amendments may alter zoning regulations\, which could impact the character of areas such as The Acreage/Lox by allowing zero-lot-line properties. \nA public meeting regarding this matter is scheduled for 08/27/2025 at 9:30 AM in the BCC Chambers\, 6th Floor\, Jane M. DESCRIPTION:With the retirement of the PBC County Administrator\, the Board of County Commissioners is in the process of recruiting and selecting the county’s next county administrator. After reviewing applications from throughout the nation\, there are four candidates moving forward in the process. To give you the opportunity to get to know these individuals\, Palm Beach County is hosting a County Administrator Candidate Forum on Monday June 16\, 2025 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center located at 650 Okeechobee Blvd.\, West Palm Beach\, FL 33401. All four candidates will be answering questions submitted by the public. Information about the candidates can be found here. \nThe public is invited to attend the forum and submit questions in person. Questions can also be submitted through this link until 11:59 P.M. on June 15. Please do not send comments through the question form. Questions submitted in person at the forum will be accepted until 6 P.M on the day of the event. All questions will be screened to be legally appropriate.
