Hello neighbors!
This notice is to inform you about upcoming decisions regarding the West End Crossing 7-Eleven Plaza project, which is proposed for construction at the southeast corner of Seminole Pratt Whitney and Northlake Blvd. On August 28th, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) will hold a meeting to review and vote on zoning and land use for three properties in this area. The meeting will begin at 9:30 AM at 301 N Olive Ave, 6th Floor, and resident attendance is highly encouraged.
Representatives from the Acreage Landowners Association and local residents met with several Commissioners recently to discuss the gas station proposal and related zoning changes to commercial low. Concerns were raised about increased traffic and road capacity. The suggestion was made to delay any zoning change until after existing commercial developments in nearby communities like Avenir and Westlake's 5 million square feet of commercial are completed. However, Commissioners indicated that project delays based on traffic are not possible.
The Commissioners requested input from the community about preferred business types for the location. They noted concerns regarding wells, potential environmental impacts, traffic, pollution, and crime associated with gas stations. If the commercial zoning change proceeds, suggestions have been gathered for alternative businesses that may better serve the area, given that there are already several gas stations nearby.
Residents are invited to choose from the provided list of suggestions or add new ideas. All feedback should be reasonable. Thank you for your attention and participation.
